World Book Night 2014

Every night is book night for me. But I’m not working this night – 23rd April – and I happily have a copy of Roald Dahl’s Short Stories to enjoy. Lucky me!

Swindon Central library is proud to be hosting an event as part of World Book Night 2014, the nationwide celebration of the reading, recommending and giving of books.

Now in its 4th year, World Book Night 2014 will take place on the 23rd April, UNESCO’s International Day of the Book and Shakespeare’s birthday.

World Book Night is an industry-wide initiative launched in 2011. It is a celebration of reading and books, which sees tens of thousands of passionate volunteers gift either specially chosen and printed WBN books or, for the first time this year, their own books in their communities to share their love of reading.

Celebrate World Book Night with us at the Central Library with a fantastic programme of FREE events.

7:15pm: Meet the Book Givers in the Express Zone
8pm – 9:30pm: Quiz and Poetry in the café
